If you wield a camera, you've come across this at some time: "Photography not permitted".
For any photographer, whether a seasoned pro or a holiday snapshooter, this is obviously irksome, being treated like a naughty child, often without any justification.
Thereby hangs the tale of the title of this blog - but this blog isn't about photographer's rights, it is about photography in general. I hope to post bits and pieces about various shoots, locations, occasions and adventures, and perhaps hear back from readers on their experiences, similar or diverse.
That said, I'll kick off with the photo that started me thinking about this blog.
I was mystified at the rationale behind that sign up there: The place was a flea market overflowing with tourists, at the peak of the tourist season in Goa, and between the SLRs, point-and-shoots and camera phones, it was a veritable snap-fest. If the shop owners were worried about someone stealing their "unique designs", they needed a reality check: exclusive designs aren't displayed in flea markets.
